Students are beginning to learn about the parts that make up the circulatory system: the blood, heart and vessels. Students know about the four parts that make up our blood (plasma, white blood cells, red blood cells and platelets) and they know that the vessels are tubes that carry the blood (arteries, veins, and capillaries). Later on this week students will become experts on drawing the heart, understanding important things like the four chambers and the valves. They will also be able to explain the paths that blood take as it flows through the body. (Pulmonary and Systemic) |
